Description / Weight Calculation Certificate
Weight Calculation Certificate — Verified Load Weight
The Weight Calculation Certificate documents the official weight determination for each load of wood waste processed through the 905WOOD system. Weight accuracy is critical because it directly drives three financial calculations: the Decoupled Billing invoice (net weight component at $142.40/ton for clean wood), the CIRCIL Levy obligation ($5-$60 per tonne depending on diversion status), and the Carbon Dividend (CORC yield of 0.75t CO₂e per dry tonne at ~$350/ton).
The certified formula converts volumetric bin capacity to weight: Bin Volume (cubic yards) × 0.7645 (conversion to cubic metres) × 174 kg/m³ (standard wood waste density). For reference: a 20-yard bin yields approximately 2,660 kg, a 40-yard bin approximately 5,320 kg, and a 144-yard Walking Floor approximately 18,800 kg at standard density.
The certificate accounts for the sponge effect — wood waste that has absorbed rainwater weighs significantly more than dry material, and this moisture content must be adjusted before applying carbon yield calculations. Scale-verified weights at the hub are reconciled against volumetric estimates to maintain accuracy of the density factor over time.
This certificate is the financial anchor of the entire Decoupled Billing system. Accurate weight data ensures that clients are billed fairly based on actual material volume rather than arbitrary flat rates, while 905WOOD maintains margin visibility on every load.
