Decoupled Invoice — Transparent Weight-Based Billing
The Decoupled Invoice is 905WOOD's signature billing innovation, replacing the opaque flat-rate pricing common in the Ontario waste industry with a transparent three-line structure that clients can verify, understand, and optimize. Each invoice clearly shows: Line 1 — Base Logistics (approximately $350 per load, covering transport and processing), Line 2 — Net Weight ($142.40 per ton for clean wood, $189.96 per ton for mixed waste), and Line 3 — CIRCIL Levy ($5-$60 per tonne based on diversion status).
This transparency creates a powerful behavioral incentive. When clients can see that sorting their wood waste at source directly reduces both the per-ton rate (clean vs. mixed pricing) and the CIRCIL Levy assessment, they are economically motivated to improve source separation. The result: cleaner loads, higher diversion rates, lower client costs, and better unit economics for 905WOOD.
The Decoupled Invoice integrates data from across the Digital Refinery pipeline: classification result from Layer 1, certified weight from Layer 2, compliance verification from Layer 3, and CIRCIL Levy calculation from the provincial assessment schedule. Every line item is traceable back to verified operational data, making the invoice audit-proof.
For general contractors managing waste budgets across multiple projects, the Decoupled Invoice provides the granularity needed for accurate cost allocation and project-level waste management optimization. The Carbon Dividend display on each invoice also shows the positive environmental impact — the CORC yield value of the diverted clean wood.
