Description / Site Assessment Report
Site Assessment Report — Pre-Collection Risk Evaluation
The Site Assessment Report is generated before bin placement at a construction or demolition site, evaluating the waste origin characteristics, access logistics, and contamination risk profile. This proactive assessment feeds critical context into the Digital Refinery pipeline from the earliest possible point in the waste lifecycle.
The assessment classifies sites across multiple risk dimensions: origin type (new construction, renovation, demolition — each with different contamination profiles), building age (pre-2004 structures carry higher CCA-treated wood risk), geographic location within the GTA service area, site access conditions for fleet routing, and historical data from previous loads at the same location.
For demolition-origin sites, the report applies elevated scrutiny because demolition waste has significantly higher treated wood contamination rates than new construction waste. The Precautionary Principle mandates that demolition-origin loads receive mandatory XRF hub testing regardless of visual AI classification confidence, as the Visual Fallacy failure mode is most prevalent in aged building materials.
The Site Assessment feeds directly into Layer 2 logistics planning, informing bin size selection, fleet routing, and collection scheduling. Sites with elevated contamination risk are flagged for priority Hub XRF/NIR processing, reducing the time between collection and definitive classification.
