Description / Digital Product Passport
Digital Product Passport — Material Lineage Verification
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) provides a complete material lineage record for wood waste from its point of origin through every transformation in the Digital Refinery pipeline to its final disposition as pyrogenic biocarbon. This "Saw Blade to Soil" traceability represents the most comprehensive waste material tracking available in the Ontario construction industry.
The passport is structured as a JSON data object containing: source identification (site, project, builder), Compliance Gate classification with AI model version, Chain of Custody transfers with timestamps, Hub sensor readings (XRF/NIR when applicable), processing transformations (chipping, drying, pyrolysis), quality verification (feedstock spec compliance), CORC yield calculation, and a SHA-256 blockchain hash binding the complete lineage to an immutable record.
The blockchain hash ensures that the Digital Product Passport cannot be altered after creation. Any modification to the lineage data would change the hash, making tampering immediately detectable. This cryptographic integrity is essential for the premium carbon credit market where verification of removal claims is increasingly scrutinized.
Digital Product Passports are aligned with emerging EU and international DPP regulations that are expected to require material traceability across supply chains. By implementing DPP capabilities now, 905WOOD positions its carbon credits and biocarbon products for compliance with future traceability requirements that less sophisticated competitors will need to retrofit.
