Description / RPRA Generator Registration
RPRA Generator Registration — Registry Compliance
The RPRA Generator Registration document captures and validates a waste generator's registration with the Ontario Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority's Hazardous Waste Program Registry. Under Ontario environmental regulations, any entity that generates, transports, or receives hazardous waste must be registered in the RPRA system before manifesting can occur.
The registration package includes: generator legal name and business number (CRA BN), RPRA registration number, registered site addresses, waste types authorized, designated contact information, and carrier authorizations. This information feeds directly into the automated Part A manifest generation pipeline, ensuring that every manifest references valid, current registration data.
For 905WOOD clients who have not previously dealt with hazardous waste classification, the Generator Registration document provides step-by-step guidance on obtaining RPRA registration. This is increasingly important because clean wood loads that unexpectedly fail TCLP testing require immediate hazardous waste manifesting — and manifesting cannot proceed without a valid generator registration.
The Digital Refinery captures client RPRA Generator Numbers as a custom field during the ordering process (through Magento custom product options), allowing automated pre-population of manifests when TCLP exceedance is detected. This eliminates the common industry problem of contamination detection followed by a registration scramble that delays proper documentation.
